Luo's research interests fall into DNA sequencing and the application of artificial intelligence to biology. He focuses on 1) utilizing the state-of-the-art tools to help traditional biological research projects and 2) developing new pipelines or bioinformatics tools when necessary. His experience covers most parts of DNA sequencing, from image processing of illumina-like images to variant calling and interpretation.
